Aaku is a directory app for UK urology patient information leaflets, built for use by healthcare professionals. This page explains what happens to your information when you use Aaku and the aaku.org website.

Data collected by Aaku

Aaku does not collect any personal data, and there are no accounts, sign in, tracking, analytics or advertising of any kind inside the app.

What is stored, and where

Your favourites and any group names you create are stored only on your own device, using standard on device storage. This information never leaves your device and is never sent to Aaku or to any third party. Removing the app removes this data.

Do not enter patient names into group names or anywhere else in the app.

Opening a leaflet

Every leaflet in Aaku links to the original page on the publisher's own website (for example BAUS, Prostate Cancer UK or Macmillan). Aaku does not host, store or reproduce leaflet content. When you open a leaflet, you leave Aaku and are handed to the publisher's site, which operates under its own privacy policy. Aaku has no visibility of what happens on the publisher's site.

Feedback and leaflet suggestions

The "Suggest a leaflet or report a link" action opens a message in your own mail app, addressed to Aaku. Aaku does not send this message for you and has no separate feedback service; the message is sent from your own mail account under your own mail provider's policy.

The aaku.org website

The website aaku.org, including this page, is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare, as our hosting provider, processes standard web server access logs (such as IP address and request details) as a data processor, for security and reliability purposes. Aaku does not add any cookies or web analytics of its own, and there is no advertising or tracking pixel on this site.

No cookies, no web analytics

Aaku and aaku.org do not set cookies and do not run any web analytics service.

Children

Aaku is intended for use by healthcare professionals and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
