Aaku Support

Important information

What this app is

Aaku is a directory. It lists patient information leaflets published by other organisations and gives you a link and a QR code to each one. It hosts no leaflet content, and does not copy, alter or summarise any leaflet. It provides no medical advice, diagnosis, treatment recommendation, or assessment of any individual patient. Every link opens the publisher's own page. Aaku is not a medical device.

If you are a clinician

You choose which leaflet is right for your patient, check that it is current, and hold the consent discussion it supports. Aaku does not assess whether a leaflet suits a particular patient. Leaflet content, accuracy and review dates belong to the publisher; publishers revise leaflets without notice. "Past review date" reflects the publisher's own recorded review date; it does not mean the leaflet has been withdrawn.

If you are a patient

This information comes from the organisations named on each leaflet. It is general information about procedures, and it does not replace advice from your own doctor or nurse, who knows your circumstances. If anything here differs from what your team has told you, follow your team.

Independence

Aaku is an independent catalogue. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced in partnership with any listed publisher or the NHS.

How to use Aaku

Find and share a leaflet

Open Contents, choose one of the 13 groups, then tap a leaflet to open its detail page. Tap the QR code to show it full screen for a patient to scan.

Save leaflets for quick access

Tap the star on any leaflet, from a list or from its detail page, to add it to Favourites. Tap the star again to remove it.

Share several leaflets at once

Open Groups and create a named group (for example "Stone clinic"). Add leaflets to the group, then use Share or Print to generate one printable sheet of QR codes and links, produced entirely on your device.

Do not use patient names as group names.

Suggest a leaflet or report a link

In About, tap "Suggest a leaflet or report a link". This opens a message in your own mail app addressed to Aaku, with space to describe the leaflet or the problem. Every suggestion is reviewed before the catalogue is updated for everyone.

Privacy

See the Privacy Policy for details on what Aaku stores and where.
